Anaga Rural Park

The Anaga Rural Park, located in the northeastern tip of Tenerife, one hour by car from my guest house Un Jardin al Mar, is a protected area and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Its rugged mountains, deep ravines and traditional villages make it a unique place to explore.

The vegetation is dominated by the laurel forest (laurisilva), a humid subtropical ecosystem that is a true relic of the Tertiary period and very rare in Europe.

Many marked trails allow visitors to discover the park, such as the hike to Taganana, the path from Cruz del Carmen to Chinamada, or the easy walks starting at the visitor center in Cruz del Carmen.
